As the weather changes, we want to remind you to protect your house and yourself before cold weather hits. To help you prepare, here are some suggested informational tips:
Buy your snow shovel now.
Keep water and canned food on hand, just in case.
Clean your gutters and downspouts now.
Replace the filter in your furnace.
Have your chimneys and wood stoves cleaned.
Know the City’s snowplow route. If you click the link, you will see the City has divided the streets into three priority levels. Due to limited resources, in a heavy snow event, you can expect the First Priority Route to be maintained. The second Priority Route will be addressed as resources allow with priority over the third route. The third Priority Route will be managed as resources allow.

On Tuesday, December 10th, the City Council held its regular monthly meeting. Here are the meeting highlights to help keep you informed. Renewal of the Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) Interlocal Agreement (ILA) was approved – The City of Normandy Park participates in the four-city Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) staff-level working group. This group was formed by an ILA adopted in March 2018 by member cities Normandy Park, Des Moines, Burien, and SeaTac. The purpose of the ILA is for the cities to establish and operate a process for the review and analysis of the environmental process, impacts, and concerns related to the airport’s SAMP.

Decorate your home with festive lights and win an award for the best light display!
Normandy Park’s Light the Park was created to honor homeowners who provide a festive, bright display in the winter months. The Normandy Park Arts Commission, in partnership with the Friends of Normandy Park Foundation, will be on the lookout for fantastic light displays on Thursday, December 12th, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. You can help spread the holiday cheer in Normandy Park by decorating your house for the holidays! Awards are limited, but we aim to give as many as possible. Be sure to keep your lights on in December and join the fun.
