4th of July Fireworks in Normandy Park
As we prepare to celebrate the 4th of July, the City of Normandy Park would like to remind residents of the local fireworks rules. Our goal is to ensure everyone has a fun, festive, and most importantly, a safe holiday. Fireworks are permitted within city limits, but their use is regulated. Please review and follow the rules below:
- Fireworks may be discharged within city limits from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 3rd and from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 4th.
- Fireworks must be “consumer fireworks” as defined by State Law.
- You must be on private property with the permission of the property owner. It is unlawful to discharge any fireworks on any public property. Public property includes parks, public open spaces, public playgrounds, public streets, public roads, and other publicly owned properties in Normandy Park.
The regulations are outlined in Chapter 7, Section 32 of the Normandy Park Municipal Code. Something new to this section, the City has updated the penalties for violations as follows:
- First violation: $250 fine
- Second violation within two years: $500 fine
- Third violation within two years: Classified as a misdemeanor
For more information, please refer to the Municipal Code or contact the Normandy Park Police Department at (206) 248-7600 during business hours. Let’s work together to make this Independence Day safe and enjoyable for everyone in our community. Happy 4th of July!

City Manager Report – June 20, 2025
Emergency Preparedness in Action at the Annual Field Day Saturday, June 28 | 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Marvista Park. Emergency preparedness is a top priority for the City of Normandy Park, and one essential aspect of our readiness strategy is effective emergency communication. To help build community awareness and resilience, we invite all residents to attend and participate in the annual American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Field Day, hosted by the Highline Amateur Radio Club (HARC) at Marvista Park on Saturday, June 28, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. What is Field Day? Field Day is amateur (ham) radio’s open house. Every June, more than 31,000 licensed operators across North America set up temporary radio stations in parks, schools, and other public places to demonstrate how amateur radio plays a vital role in emergency communications. The event showcases the science, skill, and public service of amateur radio while fostering community engagement, technical training, and emergency preparedness.
