Public Hearing for the 2025-2026 Budget planned for November 12th
Are you interested in the City’s budget? If so, join us on Tuesday, November 12th, to learn more. The City must approve the 2025-2026 Budget by the end of the year, so the Council will hold a public hearing and have its first reading of the ordinance that will approve this document. At the meeting, you will learn more about the City’s significant expenditures, what programs are being improved, which capital projects are being considered, and how the City will protect its fiscal sustainability.
The biennial budget document presents the overall plan for allocating City resources to ensure public safety, enhance the quality of life and natural resources, and maintain and develop the City’s infrastructure. Please join us on Tuesday, November 12th, at 7:00 p.m. to learn more.

King County Announces Homeowner Improvement Exemption
The King County Assessor’s Office has announced the Homeowner Improvement Exemption Program. What is this program? Well, owner-occupied single-family residences that are remodeled or renovated may be eligible for property tax relief. If approved, owners who apply timely will receive an exemption of up to 30% of the original structure value for three years. The dwelling must be owner-occupied and have not received a Home Improvement Exemption in the past five years. The application for a home improvement exemption must be filed with the Department of Assessments before the remodel or addition is completed.
To qualify, you must meet specific requirements. Here is a link to the application. For more information, please get in touch with the Assessor’s Office at (206)296-7300 or email HomeImp.DestProp@kingcounty.gov.

Working Together for Safer Streets: Normandy Park’s Local Road Safety Plan
The City of Normandy Park is taking an important step toward making our roads safer for everyone. As part of the City Council’s 2025 Goals, we’re developing a Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP) to improve safety along our major, federally classified roadways. I want to share what this plan is all about—and how it will benefit our community. What Is a Local Road Safety Plan? A Local Road Safety Plan, or LRSP, is a strategic roadmap that cities use to identify safety issues and take action to reduce serious crashes and save lives. Each LRSP is unique, designed specifically for the community it serves, using local data and best practices in traffic safety. The plan examines where accidents occur or are likely to happen, and what we can do to prevent them. It helps us move away from one-size-fits-all solutions and instead focuses on what will truly make a difference for Normandy Park.
