Park Commission Vacancy – Position #4
The City of Normandy Park encourages all citizens to consider involving themselves actively in local government by serving on a City Board or Commission. Applications for appointment are currently being accepted for Position #2 on the Board of Park Commissioners, which is a full-term position expiring June 2028.
The Board of Park Commissioners meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Currently, these meetings are being remotely with the understanding when city facilities re-open the meetings will return to being held in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The seven-member board was created to advise the City Council on matters regarding the expansion and operation of city parks and recreation programs. The volunteer Park Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of the City Council, on the basis of their demonstrated interest in or their knowledge and support of the business of the City (NPMC 2.24).
