COVID-19 Response Information
If you are in King County and believe you were exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19, contact the King County COVID-19 Call Center at (206) 477-3977. The call center is open daily from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm and has a language line.
Statewide Requirement to Wear Face Coverings
Washington State Department of Health issued an order requiring anyone in Washington State to wear a cloth face-covering in public when unable to remain 6 feet away from others. It went into effect on Friday, June 26, 2020.
Public Health Data
Public Health—Seattle & King County announce daily updates to COVID-19 cases and deaths in King County through a data dashboard.
Gov. Jay Inslee and the WA Department of Health have published the Risk-Assessment Dashboard. This tool helps gauge when and how to best lift restrictions around “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” in Washington. It is updated every Wednesday.
Declaration of Emergency
A City of Normandy Park Declaration of Emergency is in effect. City employees will work from home during this period with limited, sequenced exceptions. Employees will be screened upon arrival at the office for temperature and sent home for 14 days if any fever or symptoms are noted. All city meetings are canceled during this period unless held remotely, consistent with OPMA. All business with City Hall will be by remote Zoom appointment or arranged drop-off only.
Normandy Park’s Play Safe Plan
The plan for reopening our parks has been structured into phases to support safe and healthy play.
Phase 1 – Open all parks.
Phase 2 (Current) – Open community garden, park restroom, athletic fields, and playgrounds. Allow outdoor recreation activities with 5 or fewer people.
Phase 3 – Allow outdoor recreation activities with 50 or fewer people.
Phase 4 – Open the recreation center.
Essential Workforce – Public Works
Public Works is operating as an essential workforce during Governor Inslee’s Executive Order in a limited capacity. Crews’ activities are limited to:
- Increased cleaning within City Hall.
- Sanitation control.
- Vegetation control that could present hazards or compounding problems if left unchecked.
- Urgent street and stormwater repairs
- Assorted tasks where social distancing requirements can be met.
