Fall is a great time to gain knowledge and confidence to set you on a course for safe boating! Members of the local U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary are offering an 8-hour Boat America course right here in Normandy Park. The instructors are experienced boaters and safety educators.  Topics include boating “rules of the road” and essential information to safely enjoy a variety of boating and paddling activities. Class provides tips on docking, towing, launching, anchoring, equipment, preparation, and more.  Successful completion of this course, including a passing score on the exam at the end of the day, qualifies participants to get a Washington State Boater Education Card. This course is great for families and friends who boat together.  Kids ages 12-15 should participate with an adult friend or family member. Questions about the course may be emailed to:
uscgauxiliarygreaterseattle@gmail.com
Stop by during business hours at Normandy Park City Hall to register and pay course fee.  Registration deadline:  Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
