Soundbath with Cody Blackbird

UPDATE!! Due to the weather, today’s Sound Bath has been relocated across the street to 19800 Marine View Dr SW at Marvista Elementary School. We hope to see you there!
As part of the Spring into the Arts series, the Normandy Park Arts Commission is offering a free Soundbath in June!
A soundbath is an immersive auditory experience designed to promote relaxation, introspection, and connection. Participants are “bathed” in sound waves rather than water—allowing frequencies, tones, and vibrations to move through the body and mind in a deeply meditative way.
In Cody Blackbird’s Native Flute Soundbath, this experience is grounded in the spirit of the flute itself—an instrument whose origins are deeply connected to nature, breath, and harmony. Traditionally used for storytelling and connection, the Native flute carries a voice that mirrors wind through canyons, the rhythm of water, and the pulse of the earth.
Through layered tones, ambient textures, and live improvisation, Cody creates a space where sound becomes a guide. This immersive journey invites participants to slow down, reconnect, and explore the subtle emotional and physical effects of vibration—anchored by the voice of the oldest woodwind in North America.
This session is both a performance and a shared experience—where ancient resonance meets modern intention.
