Police Services
Let NPPD keep an eye on your home while you are away. Fill out the attached form and officers will do perimeter and visual checks of your home when you are out of town or if your house is vacant.
Your camera footage could help solve a crime! When a crime occurs, officers often seek video surveillance from residents and businesses. To make the most of this resource and increase efficiency, NPPD is working with the community on a voluntary camera registry. You can provide your camera location and how best to contact you in the event we are looking for footage.
IMPORTANT NOTE – Registering your camera does not give anyone access to your camera(s). This program is completely voluntary and requires your involvement to access footage.

Common Questions
Interested in a law enforcement career
If you are interested in a law enforcement career, start by understanding what modern-day policing is about, requirements, and expectations.
How do I make a non-emergent police report?
NPPD encourages residents to call 911 if they want or need a police officer to respond to their location or contact them by phone. Do not hesitate to dial 911. In the event that you would like to report a concern or crime that is not occurring at the moment, you can call the non-emergency police line to talk to the records specialist, an officer or leave a message for a return call. A good example of when to utilize the non-emergency line is in the event that your bank statement shows that your debit card was fraudulently used or you arrive home from work and find your mailbox damaged and your mail missing. In some cases, an officer can gather needed information over the phone, other times an officer would prefer to meet with you to collect details or evidence. Remember – it is okay to call 911. NON-EMERGENCY POLICE LINE = 206-248-7600
What should I expect when I call 911?
It’s important to remember to be patient – even in an emergency. Your call may have to be transferred to the proper dispatch center. It often feels as though the call receiver is not in a rush or too busy asking questions to get help on the way. This is NOT accurate. Emergency resources are dispatched as call receivers are gathering information. This information is continuously relayed to responding personnel. Be prepared to answer where, what, when, who and any weapons. Try to maintain a steady voice so that the call receiver can better understand you. Two key elements; ACCURACY and TIMELINESS.
What is a protection order and how do I get one?
If a domestic violence event has occurred, call 911.
An Order of Protection is a document issued by a court and signed by a judge to help protect you from harassment or abuse.
