Trash Collection is still planned for Tuesday, July 4th

Waste Management will collect Garbage and Recycling on the 4th of July as part of the City’s regular scheduled service.

We want everyone to enjoy the fantastic community events on the 4th, so Waste Management has modified the normal collection routes to accommodate the annual 4th of July Parade. All routes have been adjusted to service residents near the parade route before and after the event.  Garbage and Recycle cans should still be placed curbside by 7:00 am to ensure pickup as all routes will likely be serviced at unordinary times. If you have any questions or problems, please get in touch with the Waste Management Call Center: #855-NPARKWA (#855-672-7596). You can also learn more about your service by visiting Normandy Park’s Waste Management website.

4th of July Fireworks

The City of Normandy Park is a special place for many reasons. One reason many families appreciate our fair City this time of year is that fireworks are allowed on the 4th of July.  While the discharge is permitted, it is also regulated. The following rules must be followed.

  • Fireworks may be discharged within city limits from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 3rd and from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 4th.
  • Fireworks must be “consumer fireworks” as defined by State Law.
  • You must be on private property (with permission of the property owner) – it is unlawful to discharge any fireworks on any public property. Public property includes parks, public open space, public playgrounds, public streets, public roads, or other publicly owned property in Normandy Park.

Have fun, and always remember to be safe!

If you have any questions, please get in touch with me at aarrington@normandyparkwa.gov. Have a great week!

Temporary Signs in Normandy Park
From time to time, residents ask about temporary signs. I wanted to share some information about our regulations, things like what a temporary sign is, where your signs can and cannot be placed, and other regulations on signs per the City’s code. This will be a summary, so for all the rules, please see our Public Assistance Memo or contact the Community Development Department at 206.248.8260.

Demo day for the Walker and Sequoia Creek project is coming soon. The City Council approved a contract in September to clear all the structures off the property. A Cooperative Watershed Management grant from the King County Flood Control District funds this work. Once fully complete, this exciting project will benefit the environment and create a passive park for residents to enjoy.
