Boat America
Set a course for safe boating for the coming year and beyond! Members of the local U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary are offering an 8-hour Boat America, course right here in Normandy Park. The instructors are experienced boaters and safety educators. Topics include boating “rules of the road,” and essential knowledge to safely enjoy a variety of boating and paddling activities. Tips on docking, towing, launching, anchoring, equipment, preparation, and more. Successful completion of this course, including a passing score on the exam at the end of the day, qualifies participants to get a Washington State Boater Education Card. This course is great for families and friends who boat together. Kids ages 12-17 should participate with an adult friend or family member.
