Planning for a future in the parks – phase two
August 29, 2023

The City has recently completed the first component of the updated Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan (PROS); the survey! Thank you to the 545 people (8.11% of the Normandy Park population) who participated in phase one of our survey. Watch for more community input opportunities in the near future which includes an interactive map called maptionaire! Resident input is crucial in assuring that program goals and priorities are consistent with community needs, and your input is a critical part of this process, so please, join in on this process. Planning for a future in the parks – phase one
July 3, 2023
The City is currently working on the first component of the updated Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan (PROS); the survey!

Residents are encouraged to participate in outreach over the next year by engaging in surveys, sharing ideas, and helping guide the City’s PROS plan. As you’re out and about in the city parks this summer, take some time to mull over what you like (or love!) about the parks, the playgrounds, and the open spaces, and what you’d like to see improved or enhanced.

This project allows us to work together and help prioritize the parks and recreation needs for the next 20 years. The PROS Plan fulfills the Growth Management Act planning requirements from the Washington State Department of Commerce (RCW 36.70A). An updated PROS Plan makes Normandy Park eligible for certain federal and state grants, especially through the Washington Recreation and Conservation Office. Resident input is crucial in assuring that program goals and priorities are consistent with community needs, and your input is a critical part of this process, so please, join in on this process.

The phase one park survey is now complete! Watch for more updates.
