Announcing the Arbor Day Poster Contest

On April 30th, the City of Normandy Park will be hosting an Arbor Day Celebration, and we want you to celebrate with us! The event will be a fun interactive event for the entire family. As part of the festivities, the city is hosting an all-age art poster contest.

The contest’s theme is “If I Were a Tree.” The theme is designed to provide wonder and inspire a greater appreciation of the beautiful assortment of trees that make up Normandy Park’s community forest. There will be four winning entries, one from each of the following categories: elementary school, middle school, high school, and adult. First-place winners for each category will receive a prize package. Winners will be announced at the Arbor Day Celebration.

Join us on Saturday, April 30th, at Marvista Park from 10 AM to 12 PM. For more information, contact City Hall at 206.248.7603.

Arbor Day Poster Contest Guidelines:

  • All Normandy Park residents are eligible.
  • Incorporate “If I Were a Tree” into your artwork.
  • Any media may be used to create the poster (crayon, pencils, charcoal). We are looking for eye-catching artwork.
  • Please provide original artwork with dimensions of 8.5” X 11” and in portrait orientation. Artwork will become the property of the City.
  • The poster should reference Arbor Day.
  • One entry allowed per artist. And each poster must be created by an individual. No group entries, please.
  • Poster Evaluation Criteria: Theme relevance and significance, visual impact/appeal, originality, and creativity.

Visit the city’s website for the entry form or use this link to download it. All posters are due to the City of Normandy Park by April 26, 2022.
