Please come to the Normandy Park Birthday Celebration
Join us on Thursday, June 8th, as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of Normandy Park’s incorporation.
Since its incorporation in 1953, Normandy Park has had a rich past. Normandy Park’s history is deeply rooted in progress through perseverance, adaptability, and an appreciation for beauty in both the natural landscape and architectural design. While the development of the land began in the mid-1920s as a French Normandy-inspired residential community, the Great Depression halted all development. However, from trees to sea, the land remained steeped in an appreciation for great architecture and living well, drawing new interest in the 1940s and 50s. In a short time, Normandy Park became a vibrant community, so much so that the residents decided to incorporate it as the City of Normandy Park on June 8, 1953. By taking this action, Normandy Park established a distinct entity with its own local government, enabling residents to make decisions tailored to their unique needs and interests. To this day, Normandy Park remains a passionate community striving to live happy, healthy lives with a strong appreciation for history, natural beauty, wonderful neighbors, and great architecture.
To recognize our past successes and celebrate our future, we cordially invite you to join the City Council, City Commissioners, Staff, and neighbors on Thursday, June 8th, at the Highline Heritage Museum from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. We’ll enjoy cake, a black-light glow-in-the-dark scavenger hunt, a fun trivia session, music, and more! You can also visit the Normandy Park section of the Highline Heritage Museum. So let’s celebrate our 70 years together! Kindly RSVP for this free event so we can count you in!
