Weekly Report – September 30, 2023
City Manager Amy Arrington
Update from Chief Dan Yourkoski
The investigation is continuing into the robbery that occurred on 9/15/23. We have been working diligently to identify and charge the six suspects involved. So far, two juveniles have been charged by the Juvenile Division of the King County Prosecutor’s Office, including the subject seen assaulting the clerk. We want to thank everyone who has assisted in the investigation, including neighboring agencies, King County AFIS, and the King County Prosecutor’s Office. We appreciate the tips that came from the public, thanks to the high level of media interest. We will continue to work on identifying the four remaining suspects. Thank you to our residents for your support, and rest assured we will continue to give our all to keep Normandy Park safe.
King County Library System Locker Project Moving Forward
If you have visited City Hall lately, you probably have noticed some construction activity in front of City Hall. We are preparing this area for a new King County Library System (KCLS) Book Locker, which will hopefully be installed later in the fall. As you know, this locker will provide a 24-hour accessible book locker at Normandy Park City Hall. All types of KCLS materials can be requested and delivered to this facility for on-demand access for Normandy Park residents.
Still time to take the Community Values Survey
Help Us Look Ahead to Normandy Park in 2044! Communities across Washington state are continuing their journeys through the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Update. Normandy Park 2044 presents a significant opportunity for community residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to validate our community values in our comprehensive plan. Please engage with us by taking the Normandy Park 2044 Asset-Based Development Survey.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with me at aarrington@normandyparkwa.gov. Have a great week!
