First Avenue Sidewalk Project
1st Ave Sidewalk Project. City contractors are expected to start construction on the 1st Ave Sidewalk project between S 174th St and SW 176th St on Monday March 25th. Construction is expected to continue through mid-May with day and night lane closures to both North and South bound lanes. Expect delays in the area and please drive safely through construction zones.

• Senator Karen Keiser came before the City Council to give an update on the 2024 Legislative Session.
Proclamations
• A proclamation was approved to declare the week of May 18-24th, 2024, as Safe Boating Week in Normandy Park
• A proclamation was approved to declare May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 12 – 18th, 2024, as National Police Week.
New Business Items
• Ordinance No. 1062 passed its first reading. Once approved, this ordinance will adopt the updated Parks, Recreation Open Space, and Trails (PROST) Plan, which will serve as our guide for future park improvements. If interested, I encourage you to review the plan, which details proposed improvements for our parks for the next 20 years. The second reading is scheduled for June 11th, and there will be a public hearing at this meeting if you would like to express your thoughts on the plan to the City Council.
